When folks send you slightly impolite slack messages, how do you respond?

E.g. when someone says “Do this.” or “I want this.” instead of “Can you do this,” or “I’d appreciate it if you could…”

I know their intent isn’t bad, but I also want to set our working relationship’s tone. This person is more senior to me, but I voluntarily help them and don’t report to them.

Do firms ever rescind offers if you slack of and end up with a poor G.P.A.? I’m talking full time offers after graduation.
