Where can I find out exactly what contributes to my utilization? Does PRD work contribute? How is the math done? Trying to see what I need to do to get in the 90’s

May want to ask your bowl, but at most firms it's pretty simple: utilization = hours billed to engagements /total available work hours. Anything internal for proposals, any PTO, any education, and anything else that's not time on an engagement doesn't count in that metric.

(Billable Hours + FPX + XYI) / 2080 = utilization

helpful

Ya if the hour is not paid by a client then it is not counting positively to utilization. For PWC I think it is billable/ 40 hours * weeks in a year. So a lot of hours you work extra a week doing training or networking don't hurt you

Don’t stress the number. PRD supplements billable hours as long as it’s meaningful.
