Which brokerage for Roth IRA?!
I am looking to open a Roth IRA account. I currently already have a personal investment account with TD Ameritrade and 401k with Schwab. Leaning towards adding it on to TD, but unsure of possible fees saved at Fidelity or Vanguard being large enough to outweigh the burden of adding one more brokerage to the list. I have a client who needs a 401k, or a solo retirement account w loan options. When I was at UBS/Ameriprise, it was no issue but now it seems tougher to find a firm that does solo 401k as a RIA's.

Now 8months later...they reach out to me saying they only charged $35. I just checked my bank statement and they are right but i don't have $600 sitting around...What do i do? Thoughts?

I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. Negotiation in new offer: I’m moving from fully remote to fully in office (with chance of hybrid later) offer for associate director in quality in pharma for 170k base, 18% bonus and 75k equity. I’ve asked for a sign on bonus as I’m not eligible for annual next year and will be missing my current jobs bonus. I should hear tomorrow (asking for 28k). Thoughts about the offer? Should I ask for more equity or is that standard? They’re public (currently ~$20)should I get the hybrid option in writing?

I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

What are some credit cards like the Apple Card that don’t have any physical numbers on them?

I like the Apple Card and considering opening one but want to see if there are better alternatives. It’s enticing that if I lose my card, I can instantly change the number so someone can’t use it. Plus no numbers means someone can’t randomly make a large fraudulent purchase.

Need help on how to invest. We are positioned to pay off our house later this year. Expect to work for another ~20 years. 401k fully funded and have some company stock investments maturing over the next few years, but no investments outside of that. Kids have a prepaid college plan for certain schools. Emergency fund is solid. Where should I look to start investing? Can someone explain the benefit of whole life or similar products? I understand that they are bad for 99.9% of people. How does the 0.1% benefit? Taxes? Asset protection?

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would use these at all. Significantly caps your upside. If you are uber wealthy, why wouldn't you continue investing in the market? Why pay the crazy fees for these products that are essentially just 90% treasury bonds and 10% levered ETFs and covered calls?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.
