I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. Have you ever had to deal with a loud upstairs neighbor? I’ve only seen her once and it’s been over a year but I hear her literally every day. I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.
Do companies hire for AWS profiles with good packages at beginners level?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

I’m a true night-owl that begins thinking clearly about 5 PM. I often send projects out after midnight. Early morning emails and calls are an adventure. Has anyone else had to work through this issue? Fight it or embrace it?
