EY seems easily the weakest of the big 4 in terms of general industry discussions. Deloitte or KPMG Lighthouse are the places to be.
KPMG Lighthouse
If you are looking to only do pure analytics work then I would recommend reading the Forrester Report for Enterprise Insights service providers. Came out in Q3 2018. Don’t take it from us. Take it from what our clients are reading :)
Hope you like building dashboards OP.
I am going to do you a favor.....
Really depends on what subgroup of DnA. I have done zero dashboards and have only done more complex work
^ depend on the client for the reporting tools. Don't see much analytics work done offshore. I don't think we are very strong in the predictive modeling area. Most people here lean towards general BI.
@EY2. Can you elaborate when you say, more complex work ?
Ultimately the project you get staffed on is based on skillset but also a bit of luck. Sometimes you're available when then dream project sells. Sometimes your stuck on something else. You don't get to be really selective about projects till you sell them yourself.
KPMG lighthouse and Deloitte are way ahead of the others. Disclaimer: I work in one and have friends working in other Big 4s. McKinsey’s Quantum Black is also quite good as shown in Forrester above. But other than that, Lighthouse and Deloitte are better options.
@OP We're not FSO...just networked to get onto good projects
@pwc1. How would you rate EY ?
@EY1. Haha, done a lot of that but please tell me there are projects around predictive analytics too :-)
Hardly any. Most I've seen is data infrastructure work and reporting.
@EY1. And this is something which you do or the off shore teams do and you act as a bridge between the off shore teams and client ? So, I’m thinking extensive use of Tableau/Qlikview/PowerBI and informatica kind of work. ?
I was thinking some teams are into tools like R as well for predictive work :-/
Agree with ☝🏽
Worked at both kpmg (not lighthouse) and analytics & cognitive at deloitte. Definitely getting better projects at deloitte but since i wasnt in lighthouse (just management consulting) its hard to compare
Looks like a lot of reporting work then !
@OP I'm in DDnA at EY and have some a combination of forecasting, evaluation and visualization work. I've used R, SAS and Tableau primarily. There are definitely predictive projects, a colleagues has only done predictive models since starting..hope that helps..just need to get on the right projects :)
@EY4. Are you in FSO and what about your colleague? With respect to the project allocation, any tips so that I can get these type of projects as I’m highly interested in those !!
