If I had a choice, I'd go for a four-day week of 10-hour days. Unfortunately, it's not my choice, and I don't expect it will be. Working four days when the rest of the business world is working five is just not going to happen. I would like all the three-day weekends though, it would change the camping and hiking situation in the spring and summer.
We work 4 by 10s. So I work Tues-Fri, and overlap with my boss who is doing Mon-Thu. So we spend Tue-Thu together, and Monday and Fridays is usually to catch up on our individual deadlines.
4 10s by a landslide. Perpetual three day weekends would more than make up for the longer days.
Agree with this. I would love to have three days off every week.
I hated working 10 hour days when I worked a 4-10 schedule. The 9/80 schedule is far and away the best in my eyes. I have worked it for almost 10 years and love it.
The 10 hour day felt extraordinarily long to me, which I know sounds a bit ridiculous because it is only an hour longer day than what you would work with a 9/80. But it really did drag and I just did not like how it felt compared to an 8 or 9 hour day.
I used to have a 9/80 schedule but it was flexible so some weeks I followed it, others I would work 4/10s. It was nice to be able to work my 40hours however I wanted to & I got so much done. Slow days I’d leave early, busy days I’d stay late and not be bitter about it
4/10s definitely
Given a choice I would prefer early morning starts and 10 hpur 4 day work weeks. Like 4 am - 2pm is the perfect shift Monday- Thursday

Why start early? Do you have a family yet?
4/10s
3/12, we have a weekend shift that does those hours, and it’s pretty awesome. I worked a 4/10 schedule for a while and loved that.
I loved 4/10s. We are at 9/80s at my new job. Still beats 5/8s.
9/80 for sure... 9's are not a big lift, and every second weekend for sure is a 3day weekend. When including stat holiday's most weekends are 3day then :)
