Which would you say is the most beneficial for long-term professional development? CorpDev or Corp Strategy?

Just graduated w a FT offer at a T2 (S&O, OW, LEK). However, full time start date has been pushed to next year. Is there any way to recruit for MBB in the next coming months? (Realise that hiring is low because of COVID)

Had two final rounds w MBB during UG recruiting and if I have to wait several months to start FT. Iwould rather start a career w MBB if at all possible.

Anyone ever make the switch from consulting for a life sciences consultancy or boutique to an ops role in a fund investing in payer/provider or healthcare systems?

Working as an analyst in Energy Practice assisting case teams with renewables, utilities, O&G, digital strategy. Net experience 2 years! Want to go for higher studies.

Should I
1. Go for technical masters? (if yes, do recommended some good courses)
2. Wait to gain enough experience for a MBA in US/EU

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. Coming to the realization that consulting is not for me (tech person) feeling angry that salaries at D will never be on pair with FANG and that leadership is not tech focused. For example you could be a soul contributor at fang making 240k and people at Deloitte wait 10+ years to earn that as Senior Managers because they need to climb the corporate ladder. It seems super clear cut to me now, if you want to make money in tech don’t join consulting firms. Am I wrong?

Is it more common to progress through jumping around to different companies?

I will be starting an FDD position in August right out of college. Do you think 3 years in this industry will provide enough relevant experience to make the switch to CD. I am also planning to get my CFA if that is at all relevant.

For those currently working in CD, what did your career path to your current position look like?

A company was ready to extend an offer two weeks ago but no updates yet. Now another recruiter from the same company reached out for a slightly different role. I’m still interviewing with other companies and would be open to learn more. What would be the best practice when it comes to different roles at the same company?

Options considering:
1/ Continue current path, stack more deal experience, strong chance of Director promo in 3-6 months
2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)

Soon transferring from an advisory role (financing, FDD, consultancy, modeling etc) at a small boutique firm to a TAS role at BDO. Main clients are lower MM and MM PE as well as listed corporates.
