My company forces us to. They basically looked at the remaining PTO and put out a schedule of days off for people to make us take them. Granted, my entire company is 8 people, so it's a little easier to do that

I think that method is the next best thing if you're not going to let people sell or roll over. Working in a company of 8 also sounds so fun haha

The one benefit of living in California is we can’t lose our PTO, it just stops accruing if we build up too much. My coworkers from other states only get to keep 5 days and then they have to use it or lose it by March.

I had no idea that was a thing! Still gotta live in California but having that perk makes it an easier pill to swallow
