Why is advisory staff 1 salary at $72k (in NYC) and audit is 60k?! Even a senior1 in audit doesn't make that much! And they don't need to worry about CPA! Some of them never work past 7pm all year!

It depends what service line you're in within advisory. For example, cyber risk salaries are typically higher than forensics or business risk. Professionals in cyber risk are more likely to have degrees in computer science or mathematics which tend to command higher starting salaries than an accounting degree.

Are there any lays offs on at Deloitte cloud practice group ? How easy or difficult to get in as senior consultant ? How is the career growth ? I have been developer with limited cloud experience but have .net experience and overall 5+ yoe at another big 4 also cloud certifications under belt. Any idea about compensation range ?
