May I know how WLB in this company, I see in glassdoor and ambitions contains positive and negative. Is it worth to join? Is it useful for me to enhance my career for long run? How about the retention pay? If we leave the company we need to pay entire retention pay?I have other wipro and CTS, which company is better to join?

Want to share some thoughts as a nicer VP…
1) Zero consequences - fact is analysts / associates don’t do our reviews. I know many VPs who will not think twice to ask for unnecessary late night / weekend work to make them look good
2) MDs are nice to you, not to us - VPs are the ones who get more passive aggressive emails from MDs - when things go south, we take the blame
3) It’s a stressful role - fact is VPs will have to start thinking about transition to become a calling officer while balancing execution. We don’t get credit from doing a great LBO / DCF anymore. We really need juniors to step up to free us up from doing client work
Hope it makes sense… but I started from an analyst and definitely have seen BS VPs
Have the exact same thoughts going through my head
You will think this until you are a VP.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make a miserable person be nicer or like you more. Stay professional and remember that it is a case of it’s not you is them problem. They are sometimes so miserable if with large amounts of money that breaking down another person makes them feel powerful. If the organization has individuals like this and it seems like the norm then it is a toxic work place and start looking elsewhere. Life is too short!!
So typical. Exact same situation. Others will say like VPs are under more pressure but they don’t even do the work all they’re focused on is client or MD management.
VPs have the hardest job by far.
By reviewing your work, they’re doing the grueling analyst/associate work by extension, and they’re also supporting client engagement and strategic decision making, which is even more stressful than the analyst/associate work.
You’ll get it some day
Also if you want a job that doesn’t take a toll on your mental health, you should probably try a less toxic industry
I sympathize with VPs - they need to take a hard stance a lot of the time because they’re the ones whipping us in line and if they’re too nice, people will not listen.
MDs can afford to be nice because they’re not the ones directly telling us what to do
It’s more so that we are held responsible for execution. A formula error/fat finger is our responsibility.
