Why Managing Your Accounts Payable Matters

Accounts payable might seem like a back-office chore, but it’s key to keeping your business running smoothly.

💡 Pay bills on time (not too early) to keep cash flowing.
🤝 Prompt payments build trust with vendors.
📊 Organized AP means fewer errors and less stress at month-end.
🔍 Tracking payables helps you budget and plan better.

This is truth!
When I negotiate with a supplier I tell them up front I am cheap and want the best price and service. In return I will always pay timely. I give the supplier reference if they want them. I suggest that they can get paid by ACH and most take that option.
We have developed a good reputation in our area for being a reliable customer. That often times means a better price.

How is Luxoft. Are they send employees to client place. Or we have to work from Luxoft office only.

I had two recruiters today reschedule a meeting. And this is the second time rescheduling. Honesty, not sure what value recruiters bring. Is this common now? Is it hard to have respect for people’s time and their schedule? Reschedule once I can understand. But twice is just stupidity. I hope AI wipes out all bad recruiters who don’t give af. Sorry for the vent. Maybe it’s just my bad luck then.

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
