Will Arnett's RBC ad is playing a lot during the World Series, giving me the chance to overdose on how poor it is. Here's just three things wrong with it:

1) Fintech is represented by a shady dude on the street using a sandwich board. Way to scare those Boomers, RBC!

2) Arnett says, "When life gets real, RBC is the bank we Canadians turn to." Mmmm, big banks are so empathetic. Maybe they give hugs for free?

3) "It's ok, I'm the spokes-guy" 🤦‍♂️

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?
