The fact that making sub plans is worse than going in sick sometimes.
Oh so true. I hate doing sub plans.
Because I don’t want to do sub plans!
You are so correct
The fact that it is more work to stay home (sub plans, catch up days, grading assignments) than it is to go.
Im trying to save up enough sick days to be able to take a paid maternity leave in the future, so I just think how I cannot afford to have kids without banking these days. It’s pretty depressing but usually gets me out the door.
Well every time one of my children ends up in the hospital... like they did last week I wear the identification bracelet for as long as possible to remind me of the impending bills. That is a great motivator to get to work.
I promise myself Starbucks (or if I really feel awful, something more rewarding) if I get myself moving & out the door. Sometimes you feel better once you get going. If not, you can always leave early if you are feeling too bad.
If not Starbucks doesn’t tempt me at all I’m probably too sick. 😄
I have run out of paid days off. I did take one day without pay because my room wasn’t close enough to a bathroom to accommodate my issue.
I am sorry to hear that oP. I was feeling so crummy about a week ago and I ended up calling out. I had a really bad upper respiratory infection and I just couldn't shake it.
