I just kept my hair straight. I wore a full suit with a nice/neutral coloured blouse. Did a full face of make up as well!
Not a woman but I feel I can be helpful. First off, lighting is the most important. Get a nice bright light facing you. No backlighting. Make sure that the light doesn’t create shadows on your face. So either have the light directly in front of you or have one on each side of the monitor. Plain background is nice but I think having some nice things in the background improve the view. Think books or frames on a credenza; a nice orchid or a plant is even better. Light but visible make-up usually looks best. I think at least eye liner to make your eyes pop out slightly is important. Light lipstick workout too much gloss. Wear contrast between the blouse and the blazer. I think a dark blazer with a white or ecru shirt is nice. Angles also matter. Don’t have the cameras pointing up. Eye level is best. Too high is not good either. Also invest in a nice desktop microphone and don’t use headphones unless they’re invisible. Definitely nothing over the ears. Hair should be whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Not overdone. You want to feel confident so you come across confident. Good luck.

This is also good advice, though if you manage to get a good, bright light to put in front of your face, you’ll need more makeup than normal. Think TV-style.

Did light make up, suit dress and jacket, hair straight, plain white wall behind me. Also wore heels just because they make me feel confident but was able to sit with my legs more comfortably than I otherwise would’ve in an interview

Full suit, but if you have a thinner or lighter blazer or jacket, it looks better on camera. I actually ended up buying a cheap sweater-like jacket on Amazon because I was spending so much time on camera. Looks way better on camera (less chunky or stiff) than my usual business clothes.
I’m on the hiring committee of a V50 and I would not expect you in a full suit. Business casual is perfectly fine. Hell, I’m going to be in near-pajamas. That said, I don’t think that applies to all firms or people.
I would test your chosen talking method and make sure there’s no echo and you can be heard perfectly. A lot of people who use their laptop sound garbled.
This is great advice! Definitely test out your speakers and camera. I did a mock zoom the day before to test out my speakers, camera, lighting and background just to make sure it all looked okay and worked smoothly!
