Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA
Is the switching cost/risk and higher COL worth it?

Weird name for it, but yes, I care about these things and a lot of other people do too. WLB and career progression are obviously things most people care about, but culture does matter too.
Think about it this way, if you had the option of working at two different places, exact same job and hours and benefits, but in one of them everyone treats you like shit but you get paid $250k, and in the other one everyone is friendly and polite, and you get paid $240... what are you going to choose?
No I am only money motivated 🙃 all other compensation doesn’t pay my bills. Honestly would love a job where I am evaluated on only having to complete my assigned tasks in the allotted time frame really well and go home.
All this additional stuff where they want you to be a part of social groups after hours or take on additional social tasks while in office no thank you . It’s a waste of money that could be compensating all employees with additional funds.
I had a job interview where they talked non stop about all the company gathering and social events and the expectation that you attended as many as possible and was part of the team after hours. Upon receiving the offer declined because to me the entire vibe I got is we don’t have friends or family outside of work.
