Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. We plan on having kids within the next year or two, and it’s highly u likely that she’ll be able to keep her current gig. We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Should she get certifications to give her a shot at adtech?Too late?

Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

I was interviewed for a perticular customer, which went well and also received an offer. Few days before of my joining date, i came to know that the technology stack from customer got changed and customer had no requirement for which i was hired. However parent company still hired me and now they're in process of allocating me in some other clients. Sometimes i feel insecure about this situation. How to cope up with such cases?

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

Currently have a 5th grade girl who is struggling with classroom behaviors and choices. When questioned, she says she wants to be a boy, but her parents won’t allow it. Obviously, she is struggling with more than making good choices at school. Her parents are very kind and appreciative of all we do for their child, but they are also clearly struggling with this. Anyone ever been in a similar situation or have some advice on how we can best support the student?

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Don't they feel loneliness/ difficult to adjust? Do they look for similar asian nationalities to kill boredom?

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

My mother-in-law says he’s worked on things, but it’s been 10 years of this and I’m not sure I want such behavior around my wife and our kids since we’re trying to conceive soon (cont).
