Besides, why should he pay taxes considerating all the good he does for the country? We should be paying him! (We are but he refuses to take a salary but the media never report that)

Help. I think I’ve reached my limit. My boss/president doesn’t seems to care or show any compassion for the employees or me. Everyone is over worked, tired and constantly combative. The company isn’t competitive with compensation and her response is too bad we aren’t A holding company. She never gets involve to try and help solve issues and acts so holier than the department leads actually running the agency. (Continued in comment)

Had a conversation with the president at my small agency about transitioning from a full-time salary role to contractual work to pursue my long-term goals towards freelance illustration. They were hesitant and told me that I can do that my own work while working as a full-time employee. My hesitations are that clear boundaries would not be set if this is how I move forward in the company. Anyone have any advice at approaching this situation so that it feels win-win?

GC at a mid sized private company. Legal department has been relatively small with only a few attorneys and legal assistants so bonuses have been discretionary and decided by the president without any real defined stucture. We are quickly expanding into a number of states as a result of a recent acquisition and will be hiring attorneys in each state. I am charged with developing a more formal bonus plan. Interested in examples of bonus structures. Vesting, tiers, percent of salary. Etc.

I purchased a home with the intent of living in it once DT allowed us to return to office, but the return date kept getting pushed back so I haven’t moved in yet.
