Had a conversation with the president at my small agency about transitioning from a full-time salary role to contractual work to pursue my long-term goals towards freelance illustration. They were hesitant and told me that I can do that my own work while working as a full-time employee. My hesitations are that clear boundaries would not be set if this is how I move forward in the company.

Anyone have any advice at approaching this situation so that it feels win-win?

My sister had received an offer letter for the "Functional Consulting - Analyst" role on 7th September, 2021. Been over a year now but have not heard back anything.

Although when we were able to get in touch with an HR, we were assured that we would be receiving a call letter after a month/week but that was 4-6 months back... No correspondence since then.

Anyone in a similar situation? Is there a clear way to know when the call letter would be released?

Thoughts on 3-page resume?

Would it be fun solo? Any other places I should go instead? Basically have a full week off after 4th of July, thought I would just chill at home but now realizing I probably want to spend at least some of that time going somewhere.

I'm a brand new attorney (passed the Feb 2021 bar) who started an in-house counsel position a few months ago (where my focus is negotiating agreements for the sale of my company's software). I was a contracts manager on an in-house team for 4 years prior, which is why I was able to go straight in-house. I'm entirely skipping out on firm life, which feels both good and bad. Is there anything I should think about getting experience in? How should I go about making sure I am seeing enough things?

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

I went through six rounds of interviews including putting together a 30 minute presentation which I presented to the whole team. The whole process took about six weeks. I turned down another lead position at a different company waiting. After all that they told me that hiring for this role was on hold until further notice. At the end of the day it’s business, but I am left feeling like I wasted my time (and theirs.)Totally confused and disheartened by this process. Anyone else experiencing this?
