Does anyone have any useful articles, tweets, insta posts that I could send people when they say “if I can’t say that then what CAN I say, everything is offensive.” I’m tired.
The Brits are done talking about the lack of diversity in the entertainment industry ... they’re doing something about it!
When agencies post pics of their white staff, and boasts that they’re all about diversity, I call BS. A diverse house doesn’t mean the IT person or the receptionist- unless they’re also creatives!:)
Does anyone have experience confronting workplace inequality? Any lawyer recommendations? Things to say/not say? I don’t trust HR and I don’t know what to do.
Day 1 of Glenn Singleton's Courageous Conversations About Race training today actually rocked my world. So many things I've never talked about or even considered talking about just bubbled up.…
Does anyone else feel a lack of trust at work? A lack of trust in your judgement, reasoning, ideas etc... How do you navigate that, other than proving yourself repeatedly? Feeling very discouraged.
Is there a Latinos in advertising bowl?!

Have you listened to the MIXED COMPANY podcast? I'm about 5 episodes in and it's EVERYTHING!!!!
Does anyone talk about economic diversity? You know middle class and economically challenged people who cannot afford art schools and expensive private colleges?
Well, hello, good people. As promised, here is a recap of what we discussed together in our D&I bowl. It was my pleasure to chat with you. Please reach out to me directly-Nadia@culturecipher.org…
I am a POC and just recently got pushed out of my new role. They told me I wasn't a good fit and failed to meet job requirements. Struggling to understand whether I was let go bc of my work ethic …
Such a great discussion. I’ve just started a bowl for diversity in London specifically if anyone is interested - 9qo8f
Good people, it’s time to bid y’all farewell. Thank you 🙏🏾 Please keep this conversation going with each other and at your agencies. Will post a recap in a bit. Holler at me for anything at all—nadi…
I’m sad that instead of showing that there are no differences between human beings, we are advocating for races (what I understand it is very necessary). Just afraid that will create more division.
How do you have a conversation with someone that makes an unknowingly inappropriate or insensitive comment that not only impacts you but others around your office?
Hi, Nadia!:) What's your perspective on white fragility? I'm a white immigrant who grew up shielded from racism in a homogeneous society and want to help white people deal with their fragility…
Can marginalized people take any measures to prevent unconscious bias toward themselves in the hiring process without throwing their identity under the bus?

As someone who isn't a PoC I'm always unsure of how I should refer to others correctly. 2nd question: If referring to the only minority on another team is saying "the Asian/black/etc&quo…
As someone who isn't a PoC I'm always unsure of how I should refer to others correctly. First question: African American vs Black - what is more accepted?
I know most of the questions here will be on sexism or inclusion of POC but can we talk about ageism? Once we reach a certain age should we just leave the agency business? Is that fair?
Why is this so true and so known? Agencies are only giving lip service to this, but not taking real action. So what advice do you have for people struggling with this day in and day out?
I notice that your “visual identity” for this workshop represents different sexes and different cultures - but no older people - who are now bearing the brunt of ageism. Why have we been left out?
Hi Nadia thank you for doing this workshop my question is: how do you deal with raging systemic bias and not get victimised by your line manager who is also a group head ?
We are a small shop of 10 and are sorely lacking any people of color on our team. How do we recruit interest without coming right out and asking for POC to apply?
How do you deal with culture of fear, where things are not reported or addressed in fear of retaliation?
Thank you Nadia for your insights. I’m frustrated gaps still exist in the industry; and the diversity & inclusion needle hasn’t move much since Al Sharpton protested on Madison Ave in the 90’s
FWIW, I think in the advertising world there should be a greater effort to have a diverse staff FT vs. hiring contractors strictly for the purpose of making potential clients and investors happy. 🤷
How do we keep leadership from getting so offended and defensive when we professionally and respectfully flag culturally inappropriate work? Oh, the amount of possible Pepsi moments I’ve prevented!
Nadia, your Unconscious Bias training was so incredibly impactful for me and my team!! Brilliant. So stoked to see this crucial conversation on here. So many questions!
