Thoughts on AWS certification? Pivot from healthcare consulting to healthcare tech? possibility.. thoughts on certificate etc?

My job profile is: Staff Engineer with 8.5 years of experience in NodeJs FullStack and AWS certified.

Started welding around 9 years ago. Continued at my local community college for my associates degree, jumped into being a welding tech. Then continued for my bachelors degree. Now I’m a welding engineer and teach part time at the community college I initially went to. AWS Certified Welder and CWI. Making good money in my early 30s. Can’t stress the trades enough, especially welding because I LOVE IT.

Anyone have experience taking an AWS cert at a testing center recently and know how long it takes to get results? Took cloud practitioner today and was disappointed to not get immediate results and it says it could be up to 5 days- just wondering if it really takes that long to validate the results of a multiple choice exam 🧐

@cloud people — I spent 4+ years at Big 4 doing cloud strategy work and ~2.5 years in FAANG doing similar stuff. 3x GCP certs and 1 AWS cert. Current total comp is ~250k. Thoughts on where I could exit to for a $200k base salary?

Hi sharks - I'm having 8.5yrs of experience in Mainframe development. I know it's already late to switch but I'm gonna give a hard try while working in Mainframe now. Don't know what to start and progress. I'm thinking of starting with python and aws certification. What else I can concentrate? Any tools like selenium or automation tools or salesforce or ETL tools? Seriously, I'm in confused state. If anyone have some mainframe exp and later switched to diff. Tech, pls. Suggest.

currently I don't have any offers in hand but I just can't work here due to the above mentioned points. We(myself & 2 more) have taken this step due to the fact that we need some peace in our life.

myskill sets - JavaScript, Reactjs(Redux), Vuejs, Nodejs, MongoDB(a bit) and AWS(certified practitioner).

Have we taken the right step?
