Hello Everyone!
I have done my bachelor's in mechanical engineering and master's in engineering management for process excellence from the uni of Glasgow and uni of Strathclyde respectively. I'm currently looking for jobs and have 2 years of running my own company. I'd be glad if anyone can help me with this and guide me accordingly. It would be ideal if I could get anything in process/operations but I'm flexible and am open to explore new areas.
Regards,
Aman

It's never too late.
I think python with AI/ML would be a great change for you.
Just start with understanding OOP concepts (as COBOL is more procedural) and gradually build on Data science know-how. Practice and learn everyday. There are a lot of resources/courses available if you want to pursue it.
All the best!
Thanks a lot!!

Is it possible to work in new tech after joining in new company? Don't they bother relevant experience?
Nope.. We don't get it immediately.. Have to put extra effort to learn apart from regular work and understand how client is using that tech..
I have seen my friend (14 years exp in Mainframe- manager) had put extra effort (2-3 hrs daily) in learning new tech. connected with digital team folks and understood how it works. Also, He got some external trainer to help on user case /mini project and learnt. In 6-8 months, he got opportunity to switch internally to digital tech team after 1.5yrs in new company and now leading AI/ML/Blockchain team. He is true inspiration to me since I saw it.
