I've been at MS for 3 years and have 6 years of industry experience, originally started at EJ. Despite being a CFP, ChFC and working on my CLU I'm finding my business partner doesn't value my perspective or ways we can better serve our clients. He seems very protective and won't offer specificity on our partnership agreement and long-term vision. This seems like a common issue amongst wirehouse FAs. Curious if this is part of a larger trend others have experienced.

Is a CFP worth the expense for career progression if I’m not an advisor?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking for entry level opportunities in advisory. I'm fully licensed (SIE/7/63/65) and ready to start my CFP as soon as it's affordable or sponsored. I'm struggling to find opportunities that don't have a large emphasis on insurance sales. Anyone have any recommendations or opportunities?

I’m an FA within the bank channel and have made the mistake of leaving my first firm to go to another. bank program that ended up failing and sold our books to another firm. It’s become harder and harder to grow a book now within the bank channel because of Reg BI and it’s going to take me a decade to grow my book to where I want to be. I’m a CFP and finishing up my MBA. I’m thinking of going to another area of Finance all together like PE. Any suggestions for me? NOT looking to go Independent.

I am a financial advisor, licensed, CFP (only one on my team of 9) with 6 years of experience. My team has $1B AUM and I handle all the financial planning and estate projections for clients with NW up to $300M. I am also the primary relationship manager for ~ 50 clients ($100k-$11m AUM/client). I’m curious as to what fair compensation is for this type of responsibility? I’m also looking for ways to “track” my contributions for the clients I am not the lead on?

What’s the best way to make the jump from trust administrator to wealth strategist?
