“According to certified financial planner Colin Overweg, who has an all-virtual planning practice called Advize Wealth Management, it's a job that's "so easy a robot can do it."

Clearly biased perspective.

I’ve engaged with Personal Capital before thinking it could be automated and then switched to an actual person because it wasn’t optimizing my investment opportunities. Much happier now.

I’ve been in the industry for 23+ years, 16+ of those spent as a Producing Branch Manager. I hold S7, S63, S66, S24 and I’ve completed the education for the CFP (need to pass the exam). I excel in relationship building and providing exceptional service. I’ve only been on the full-service side for the past 2 years and my book of managed money is about $10M, with another $10M+ being self-directed by clients. I’d love to find an RIA job, what type of role would be suggested?

I’m pretty new to the tech space, and wondering what jobs might be out there in the fintech space as I gain more software knowledge. CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?

TIA

I just hit my lean fire number but am hesitating to pull the trigger, so was hoping to run it by people smarter than me:

- I have a few rentals that bring in ~$1800/mo cash flow, taxes are negligible, Capex incl.
- My paper assets will bring in ~$1200/mo at 3% draw
- I get free Healthcare at the VA
- No plans on kids
- My expenses haven't topped $30k/yr ever
- I could always reenter the workforce if needed (albeit probably not in consulting)

Please point out the flaws here, what am I missing?
