Platinum Elite Marriott member- Delayed flight got me to the hotel at ~2:00am. I try to check in and was told they have my reservation, but there is no room available. They “tried to contact me” but also told me I have no phone number on file (never been told this, I believe it is, plus my email is there). Ended up literally having to call nearby hotels with the front desk lady and walking to a Marriott with our luggage .5 mile away. Had to pay double the original booked rate

Why am I being put in main 2 for boarding with silver elite on delta. I know it’s the lowest status but it used to always be main 1 at least!

So I am investing in a franchise and so need to save as much capital as I can. One of my wife’s closest friends is getting married in Florence this summer (just told us). We’d like to go, I’m not good with points, so wondering if anyone in here has a passion for getting the best deals via points who can help a fool out. I have 300K CSR, 100K AA, and 150K Bonvoy points to play with (though I’d like to not have to use all of them). TIA!

Assume for brainstorming that anywhere in the world there is a Marriott property is an option. Category 8 peak rates work too. Have fun with this. What are some destinations and hotel options?

Using Marriott Bonvoy points for a stay for my parents: I have in the past used my SPG points and added my father’s name (by teaching out to the hotel after booking) to the reservation. It worked just fine and they even benefits fronm my Elite benefits (free breakfast). Just booked a stay for February for them and read the following “Hotel rewards e-certificates can only be requested by a Marriott Rewards member for a reservation in that member's own name. E-certificates will not be honored”

Just learned that you can link your Marriott Bonvoy account with Uber to earn Bonvoy points every time you ride Uber or use Uber eats

This is a legit question so don’t hate me just trying to understand if it’s worth it or not. What is the draw of applying to M7? I understand elite status, but based on research the median total comp for an M7 grad is 185k as of 2020 study (2019 data) and the average age of the students in these programs is 27/28. I know going to MBB they have pretty specific comp coming out for M7 grads but outside of those three firms, what is the draw? Trying to justify spending 200k for a degree.

CSR now gives 10x for booking through the portal for hotels, but I’ve heard we won’t get Bonvoy points if we book through portal because it’s booked through 3rd party? Is that true? What about nights towards status?

Looking to vacation next summer in Greece and Italy with the fam. When you all book on bonvoy points do you reserve the room just for yourself or do put the actual number of people? When I search for just 2 people staying the room, there is availability to use bonvoy points. When I search for 3 people(6y/o kid) nothing is available. The same in Athens, Rome & Naples.
