How do US staffing models differ between the large implementation related work across MBB, Big 4, WITCH type firms?

I’m assuming this tilts to more offshore as you go across the spectrum? How much more?

Offer assessment: 200k chf all in in strategy role in big industrial conglomerate - Switzerland. My profile 11 yoe - 6 yrs mbb (bcg project leader) - mba - engineering experience in corporate. Yay or nay? Why?

Planning to exit MBB for law school -> big law; trying to understand non-content culture differences / similarities. My read below:
- MBB operates 80/20 - we don’t need to be 100% accurate re: details if we have the right answer; not acceptable in law
- Hours are ~same (~65-80+ depending on current engagement, etc.)
- Travel + expense everything in MBB; none in big law
- Promotion easier in MBB (lockstep 2 year up or out) vs big law NEP’s, etc.
- Biglaw skews older + more men vs MBB

Thoughts?

I have close to 10 years in industry and 2 years in consulting. What is the best way / role / level to get into MBB?

How hard is it to go to LS/healthcare PE from MBB post-PhD? Common knowledge is that after an MBA, it’s basically impossible to go to a PE firm. Given that PhDs enter at the same level as MBAs, is that true there too, or is it relatively common for people to get into PE/VC from consulting after their PhD? Just got an MBB offer and really want to find my way into the buy side and considering if this is the best move

Poorly paid European here... And these days with rampant inflation and no heating( free health insurance not making up for that) ...Trying to get a fell for the average TC for director role in CPG in the US. I am seeing low ball numbers on job advertising (180k). Is that normal or should I be looking more at 250-300k? How does it compare to the average exit opportunity for mbb PL, manager ( e cling the tech exploding bubble)

If I'm ~3 years post MBA MBB and now talking to roles at Director / Snr Director in tech, should I be okay taking a Snr Assoc role at a PE fund?

Big tradeoffs between both (pros and cons). I'm quite torn what to do.... my heart and ego tells me PE but I like sleep so tech sounds better but worried about career progression in tech albeit PE promos aren't easy either....

I am looking for MBB consulting roles, preferably in Financial Services, in DE/AT/CH geos that don’t require German. Going through ORs, I see German being a requirement by and large.

T10 MBA + 2YOE at MBB, switching to IB. Was prepared to start over as Associate 1, but soft suggestion just made from HR to potentially consider joining as Analyst 3. Instinct is this would be too big a backward step given direct hires from MBA start as Associate 1. Thoughts / advice?

Has anyone made the jump from tier 2 to mbb? How was the experience?

Is there a real difference between MBB and other consulting firms in term of working hours? I feel the average across the board is 60hrs/week with exceptions (project based etc)
