2 yrs back, left as an Engagament Manager with one of the MBB for an in-house role at a 15% hike. Average week now is 45-50 hrs

I am feeling demotivated because of the slow growth, red tape and lack of performance-led culture. People and work is good.

Now, another MBB firm has reached out for a Principal role, confused if I could manage the long hours again, but at the same time this snail-pace is making me lose my shit.

Any advice from ex-consultant at similar stage is welcome?

Does delta partners pay more than MBB upto manager level?

Why do MBB consultants work so much?

Software engineer. I like coding and I was actually rated pretty strong after my first review. I want to get into tech strategy though. I’m not sure if I should set my goals toward being a FAANG software engineer or a MBB tech strategy consultant. Long term goal is to reach director/CTO level

What are some good firms to start a career in? Having trouble breaking into MBB, B4, and T2. Does anyone know of any firms that have a higher chance of breaking into the industry to pivot to one of the above. Thank you!

2 months into my job at an MBB, am averaging 60-70ish hours on my first project. Worried about my relationship - traveling M-Th and while I’ve been trying to invest 100% of my weekend into meaningful time with my partner (3 years together and just out of school), the time sink work causes has definitely started to bother her. Work isn’t gonna change - any best practices to avoid letting my relationship slip away in the time coming?

Anyone knows manager compensation in Jakarta MBB office? Tried Glassdoor but sample size is too small. Considering moving back home.

I’ve been at FAANG for a year and due to the economic climate I’m considering going back to consulting but I’d rather work at MBB than Big4 if I’m going to do consulting.

Does MBB hire a lot at the manager level from other non-MBB firms?

I find myself at the bed of my MBA with two offers:
1-MBB in the Middle East
2-Boutique Bank 250 people doing healthcare Private Capital in Europe

If I go to the Middle East, I would join the Park team in the MBB (they already reached out) and I can eventually or move back to Europe and spend a year or two as manager and exit to PE ( I am not sure if I can exit to non operational roles)

If I stay in Europe I would lose on brand name and salary but I’ll be able to join a deal team.

How does mbb experience (2 yrs) compare to top Ivy League undergrad degree in professional services in 30s?

Do new MBB laterals with work experience after getting a professional degree (medicine, law, etc) get credit for that experience? Or would, say, a fourth year law firm associate who goes into consulting start at the same pay level that a fresh MBA grad would?

What are some of the most impressive / high profile results of MBB (or any) consulting?

Why is MBB obsessed with painting themselves as something greater than a for profit business where their core business is helping for profit companies be more profitable? All of this "changing the world" seems a bit hypocritical to me. Nothing wrong with making money by the way!

Is working at MBB more challenging (higher performance benchmarks, lesser leeway, etc.) than T2 shops (OW, LEK, EY-P, OC&C)? Would be great to hear from someone with experience at both

For the Middle East, with which bank do expats do their banking (national vs international)? Any recommendation on how to open a local account prior to arrival in order to avoid large transaction fees?

Which safe provider can you recommend that charges low/no fees for transactions from and to Euro? I have been using Wise, but there might be better ones.
