Hello Fellow Fishes, I'm being offered Senior Associate position at PwC India. My current compensation is 12.5 LPA and work ex 4.5 years. I've asked for a 50% raise to which HR said it's bit too high for the position and they'll get back to me with a number. What kind of number should I expect? I am a senior associate (longest tenured) at a small firm of 1 partner and 5 associates. For a Christmas “bonus “ this year I got an Omaha Steaks delivery. In the 6 years prior, we always received cash bonuses. Should I be offended? I don’t know how to feel.

Basically I'm wondering how it is that big law firms generally have the same pay for associates as other big law firms. However, speaking to some of my friends at other firms, our billing rates are WAY different (ex. my hourly rate as a second year at my firm is the same as a 4th year's rate at another firm). How are situations like this even possible?

I’m considering an offer to join RSM as a Senior Associate (C equivalent). I’m in tech, approaching 1 year at Deloitte and up for promo to C.

Senior associate in the big 4 currently working on huge finance transformation project. This has given me a ton of stakeholder management experience and really put me in the deep end in terms of workload and client engagement. My question is, what's the best way to pivot for a relaxed high paying industry role?
