Is it actuallyyy possible to switch from a biglaw transactional practice to commercial litigation? I’m a third year in finance and hate the work and lifestyle. Would firms even consider hiring someone without litigation experience? I would eventually like to work for the government and have a life again...

Currently freelancing for a European Client after 9YoE at Big 4 (IT transformation & IT M&A), left as Senior Manager.
Freelance client has now offered me IT Director role for their relatively small business (<500 employees, 7 IT Staff) in the US (Los Angeles).
Their first offer is 155k + 20k car allowance. Seems ridiculously low - I was more thinking like 200k + car, but I do not know the market… Am I completely out of touch?
