I have 3 year experience working at Deloitte Consulting and want to move on to a Sales role and Career. I currently make $110K, is this feasible comp to make starting out in Sales?. How can I learn about comp in your industry?

Besides the comp question, are there any resources/forums/books online that anyone can recommend that’ll get me a good understand of what to expect out of a sales role, different sales roles, how to succeed, build career, etc. Im starting from 0

How impactful it’s to be SHRM certified?

Hello Everyone! Had a discussion yesterday regarding “claw backs” being included in a policy for sponsorship if the new employee leaves before 3 years. It was a declining percentage over a three year period. My POV was that it wasn’t something I’ve ever done and didn’t seem like they were sure of the hire they were making. I get wanting to save costs but at the same time doesn’t feel inclusive or welcoming. Thoughts? Have you done this or seen it work? Thanks!

Some of the legal webinars are stating the ETS will not survive all of the challenges. We are debating the risk internally on holding to see where this nets out

Does any one of you work in a company that hires contractors overseas?

On a new team, internal move. Have about 10 YOE but looks like this will be the first year I end nowhere near annual goal. A few things outside of my control as I'm coming into the territory and things falling through. Role is heavy on renewals/farming but also some hunting. Because the farming has been so bad as I settle into month 4, will have a huge climb. The number of reps/meetings to get there is not attainable. Do I grind it past year 1? I hate that I will come nowhere close to goal...

Im currently a field representative with 1yrs experience exceeding quota in a monopoly for an upcoming service. I do full cycle sale for B2C . I’m use cold calling, D2D, and live events to exceed quota. Is there any available roles with actual career progression?

Looking for insights from any seller at any of the hold co’s. I have an opportunity to join a new team at a hold co but I’m not sure if it will be a great move to make. I’m doing very well where I am, book of biz is thriving, but the allure of working at a larger company than my small company seems like a great resume builder. I’m not sure where I want to be in 5 years, but this seems like a good way to make myself more appealing. I’ll have to rebuild my book of biz, which means pay cut.

There is no trick to sell, either you can sell or not. The only trick is use your ears and identify key pieces and use them wisely in the conversation. Selling is a conversation properly led to a Goal.

Every 10 minutes there is a faang post. While you all are obsessing over that remember the grass isn’t always greener. I supported them last year. Sure it’s nice but why don’t people want to exit to federal? Is it too hard to get into?
