Have been going out with a colleague (we're both associates) for about a month; wondering whether to disclose...
My husband and I are hoping to have a child soon, but I don't want to get off track at work. I'd love to know how others have handled the transition to motherhood while competing to make partner.
Defendant filed a motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction. I have to now oppose this motion: where do I even begin because tbh defendant has a pretty lock argument
Would any amazing legal minds be willing to offer their time to give feedback and advice to a legal tech startup? I’m with aiLegal and we’re “ready” to go to market but having a tough time getting traction. I’d greatly appreciate anyone who is willing to provide their time to speak with my team and I. https://www.ailegal.com/
Roth IRAs - how much should I actuallyyy be putting in each year...? (27 and currently making less than 100k as a new attorney)
What do you do when you’re given a research assignment for a very specific question but you’re not finding any case law one way or the other?
The partner I work for gives me conflicting instructions or forgets his instructions, and then blames me for his unhappiness about a course of conduct I’ve taken in fulfilling his instructions. Cont’d
Does anyone think this story will resonate differently this year than in past years? Hard to imagine clients ignoring it. https://www.law.com/americanlawyer/2020/07/07/yes-cravath-still-has-zero-black-partners/?kw=Careerist:%20Yes%2C%20Cravath%20Still%20Has%20Zero%20Black%20Partners&utm_source=email&utm_medium=enl&utm_campaign=newsroomupdate&utm_content=20200708&utm_term=tal
Does your firm include pronouns in the email signatures? If so, is it optional? Is it widely adopted?
Thoughts on Proskauer Rose? Top tier or Amateurskauer? (Any comments specific to the London office in particular are also warmly received)
Incoming first year and I’m assigned to a compliance audit for a client who deals with mutual funds (asset management)? What’s the difference between compliance and a regular audit ?
Would my bosses let me move to work in a different state? I work as an internal consultant within KPMG, working for the firm within the internal HR team. I have been with KPMG for 5 months but I am wanting to move back home to be with my family - on the other side of the country. There’s only a 2 hour Timezone difference and I’d make sure to work on current time. My line manager I report to lives in another state to me anyway - and it seems to work well for her. Am I pushing my luck to ask?
A friend asked me for logo help for their new business. I'm not freelance, and don't really care about making money at the expense of my friends. How do yall set a rate for that?
Offer for an independent consulting project for 6 months making about 17k/month. I currently make 12k/month with benefits. Lifestyle seems great for the new project too. Want to leave Accenture soon.
Ramp to terminal C blocked this am at LGA - be prepared for longer than usual to get to this dump of an airport
Been at ORD since 12. Now 8PM. Flight got delayed again. My bag is on another flight, they told me I could get on the earlier 1, if I checked my bag, then didn’t have a seat for me. Do I give up yet?
Just got approved for the Chase Ink Preferred today. Any suggestions on whether to keep this card long term? Thinking about closing it after I get the 80k UR bonus.
HELP: I have been a TA for 5 yrs, and prior my role was HR/recruiter.I have tried to get out of TA and move into HR but I am having a difficult time. I have applied to entry level HR roles, simply to “start” fresh, and have not seen any luck for 2yrs.It’s not that I don’t like TA, but my company has no growth option and I am stuck at a dead end, unless a magical spell is casted. I have also applied to other TA roles as well, in hope to get industry experience. How can I better market myself?
You bust your ass winning multiple accounts and you’re supposed to be up for a title and compensation review after 18 months. It’s actually 30 months, and your increase is only 7%. What do you do?
My assistant just did a BIG no no and didn't send out a suit that needed to be mailed and delivered by this Friday ( SOL) issue. It was sent to her last week. She put it on the desk for UPS to go out but they didn't come and she never told me or anyone. How do I deal with this?
If you leave a Big 4 before you finish your cpa, how do you have the firm verify your work experience once you complete the exam?

Does it drive you bonkers when you feel invisible? Because you’re not perm, people don’t try to acknowledge you with even the basics of a hello or casual polite conversation? Outsider blues. Sigh.
