Does anyone have a dashboard or excel template for turnover/attrition where data can be easily “dumped” in for a beautiful display? TIA!
I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?
When drafting an MSJ is it better to address the ways that OC might overcome it; or is it better to just generally say why you’re entitled to MSJ and avoid tackling the finer issues that your MSJ presents?
Good morning, I work for Solugenix placing top notch candidates at companies throughout the US. I just started at Solugenix so anyone who needs any assistance either finding a job or looking for candidates please let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
I’m a 2016 grad making $120k in a small to mid-size regional firm. I’m based in Nashville. My firm’s management is trying to survey other small to mid-size regional firms to get a feel for where the comp is now, especially in light of the big law increases that are making headlines, and to see just how far below market we may have fallen. Any additional data points from smaller regional firms (especially if you have a presence in Nashville or across the SE) would be appreciated! TIA
I’m the only associate in my dept (niche transactional practice group, 4th yr). It’s so hard for me to gauge my progress when my only points of comparison are equity partners. I’ve been feeling like such a failure recently. I feel like I should be getting fewer comments on the documents I draft. I feel like I should have fewer questions. I feel like I’m always making mistakes...but I have no way to tell if I’m behind or not. Any recommendations (other than asking my partners, obviously)?
Does this get better or do we just hate our lives (and not have lives) until we leave the legal field altogether? Wondering if academia is better…
I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.
If you're interviewing at a firm that markets itself to laterals as a biglaw refuge with low billable requirements and quality of life is it okay to say in an interview that those are one of the reasons you're considering the firm?
Solo who started pre-pandemic and as a result never transitioned into a traditional office setting. I enjoy work from home and it keeps overhead obviously low. I can afford to move into an office now (and planned to do so last spring before the shutdown). I find myself hesitating to make the leap. I’ve found most clients prefer zoom consultations or house calls. I practice in PI and cannabis. Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the necessity of a brick and mortar post pandemic. Thanks.
What’s the most petty thing you’ve seen a firm do to an attorney who is lateraling out? Mine just revoked my renewal paperwork and payment for 2021-22 bar dues, even though they’ve already submitted it I’ll still be an employee when they’re due (7/1). Money’s not the issue. They can dock the $400 from my final check for all I care. The administrative hassle is the petty part, and it’s so inconsequential that it genuinely made me chuckle. I don’t even blame them. Kinda respect the hustle tbh.
So other than money (which is obviously very important) what’s the incentive to make partner? Is it crazy that I just want to do my work and go home to my amazing family without the added pressure of running a business and managing others? I’m only a third year (in a new practice area) so maybe the thought of being competent enough to ever be a partner just seems unrealistic. 🤷🏼♀️
When a law firm is looking for a 33/34 act attorney does it need an one working primarily with public companies? Or private companies as well? I’m a corporate and securities attorney, all my clients are private EGC and PE/ VC/ hedge funds, I usually ensure that they are exempted from 33/34 acts
Need to define diverse talent metrics to create a scorecard. Challenge is that the available data is based on opting in/out of self identification, that data point can change dramatically YOY. Any recommendations on metrics and scorecard?
Is experience in Labor and Employment applicable at all in Executive Comp & Benefits? If not, what are some resources that I can read that gives me a primer on that area of law?
Got an offer for $220k base, 20% bonus, $40k RSUs, and $25k sign-on in NYC and almost 7 YOE. I feel like I can’t do any better than this so do I even bother negotiating? If I did negotiate, where should I push for more?
How do you get over these kind of disappointments? I love my sister and she has been there for me always. She recently had a baby and she/her husband came to me for lots of advise right from beginning. I have spent days and nights talking to them over phone. Once baby is born - I helped them join parenting group , found pediatrician, LC, bought some stuff etc. I was on call all night for 3 days to help them calm the baby, sleep and rock. However, they don’t want to send me baby pic . Contd..
Hi PwCers: have an intro call coming up for a deals strategy role within pwc. Have more of a financial diligence background but have worked on a few large transactions where I worked closely with CDD. Any tips on how to best position myself in the intro calls? Also what is the difference between Deals Strategy between pwc vs S&? The descriptions seem fairly equal to me. Any input you can share on potential comp for HCOL at the SC level would be helpful as well. Thank you!
Question: RSM Transaction vs KPMG AAS. I am lucky enough to get two offers. A little bit about me,I am a senior auditor at big 4 currently. My goal is to get MBA and do PE/IB type work in 5 years. Thanks
How do you make sales? Trying to help a friend who’s a public adjuster find clients, we just had a big storm pass through our area and they do storm damage restoration through insurance, and I just keep hitting dead ends. This is hard.
Hello everyone, I'm currently eyeing an opening @ PwC. It is an entry-level role, and I positively think that I may have a real shot at this if I could just strengthen my chances to land an interview. Can someone here from PwC be so kind as to refer me for this role? I'd really appreciate your help!
Client has absolutely unrealistic expectations from what one person can deliver. Any ideas on how to convince them to bring on more resources?

Hey guys, I'm trying to switch from consulting to product management. What resources/books/courses would you guys recommend for prepping for PM interviews?
Switch to MBB (Associate right now; might get taken down a peg at MBB) or late stage startup in the logistics space? In an emerging/high-growth region outside of North America & Europe. I'm not keen on consulting to become a partner - but is the extra 2 or so years in consulting at MBB going to improve my exit prospects significantly?
Any suggestions for a weekday mother daughter girls day? (I’m the daughter, 26 yo for reference.) we have a car and are open to an adventure day like kayaking (would love activity/location recs) or pampering (shopping, spa type - again would love recs). Ideally within 1 hr driving distance

How to transition from being a BA to EM? I’ve completed over 3 yrs, feel like I’m doing great work, and consistently receiving positive feedback (uptil 2nd year I was ahead of the class), yet I’m not getting a clear opportunity to get a managerial role in a project. Am I the only one who has felt I’m a great IC but struggles with the promotion?
I recently accepted a new role after being laid off. I feel really blessed to have found a job in this climate. My new boss is wonderful! However, the role itself isn’t in the direction I want to go. I’m struggling with feeling guilty for continuing to job search. Any advice on staying somewhere for a good boss vs. switching jobs so soon?
How much do bizops associates at tech companies (ideally in Bay Area) make? Trying to figure out what a good comp to ask for is since the company is asking me. Thanks!
