About to start interviewing for AWS and the recruiter sent me a 120 minute assessment to take before the interview process starts. Looks like most of the questions require Audio response. Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

You’re expecting a signature required package and all of a sudden mail man rings the doorbell during your teams meeting...what do you do?
Currently, I have an employee who is struggling. Missing deadlines, making false promises to clients etc. Recently, I sat in one of his development sessions with his manager, and I was shocked at how disengaged he was and how junior he actually vs what we pay him. After some further investigation, we are afraid he lied on his resume and how his experience. How do you go about a situation such as this? This is a first for me.
