*Home Office Setup* | Am in the market for a sit-stand desk and a new office chair, and have been looking for solid mid-price options ($300-400 desk and $200-300 chair). Autonomous seems to be in this…
What is your policy on a rehire and how you handle accrual rates for PTO, do you start over? Do you have a window like if they return within 6 months it stays with original hire date? Do you handle this differently when it is a layoff? I tried to find best practices in this but not finding anything.
Are you folks happy with your decision to make a career in sales? I’m young working in tech sales, but also have my bachelors in psychology, and could see my self happily going for my masters maybe even PHD and being a counselor.
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
Has anyone recently implemented ADP’s WorkforceNow platform? Curious to hear people’s experiences.
Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
For all that HR leaders have done to shoulder the huge responsibilities over the last 6 months, what are your organizations doing to take care of you? For all the space we hold for other people, is anyone holding space for you?
I’m not happy where I’m at, my abilities aren’t being maximized as I’m spread thin, and I know I’m being undervalued. Recently graduated and in property management w/ 3-4 years sales experience. Currently on the hunt for Sales/Account Management roles leaning more towards consumer goods, then tech. Any advice?
Last year was a tough year for my boss so I stepped in to lead our team. We received an award for navigating through crisis and really were able to impact careers in a positive was from our work. My boss gave me a merit raise of 3% yesterday and was very excited to do so. I’m appreciative of the recognized effort however I still make on the lower end of industry standard. What would you recommend? This is my professional gap too - uncomfortable conversations.
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
For those in b2b sales how are your orders placed most? Online, customer service or sales reps?
How long do you typically allow for self assessments and manager assessments for year-end? This year we gave employees a week and managers 3 weeks (holidays not included), but they still said it wasn’t long enough even though most waited until the very last day to complete them.
I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Any advice would be helpful. So far I am going to get SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide by Dory Willer on Amazon. Are there free online tests to take that are comparable to the exam?
Good morning, I work for Solugenix placing top notch candidates at companies throughout the US. I just started at Solugenix so anyone who needs any assistance either finding a job or looking for candidates please let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
Is your organization planning to require employees be vaccinated? I understand why management wants this but concerned about losing good employees because they don’t believe in vaccination or are wanting to wait until more people have been vaccinated to see if there are issues with it. I’m also concerned with moral if we require this. Employees may get it to keep there job but hold on to some bitterness or develop anxiety over it. Am I being too soft or over analyzing?
What's the harshest thing your Buyer has ever said to you? Ex: Buyer emailed my colleague "instead of sharing photos of our empty shelves why don't you spend your time getting us more product"
Hello, curious to know what other companies do for employee spotlights besides the traditional email blast to the company. Any recommendations to better the experience for employees?

Got scheduled for a random MD chat tomorrow. Wish me luck. My heart just sank, but I knew this might happen due to lower chargeability. Ironic since yesterday I dreamt I got laid off.
How hard is it to move from tech to strategy? I just don't care about software development anymore. I'd even take an industry corporate strategy and operations role
Up vote if you've ever thought about faking sickness on a Sunday night so you can WFH that week.

New Hires/College grads who were laid off from IBM GBS in Spring 2018. Where are you today? And how do you feel about IBM now? For context, back then, IBM overhired a significant amount of young professionals and let go a sizable chunk of them. They also almost postponed start dates for the class of 2018 by a year. As a result, IBM has been blacklisted by many universities from OCR.
Anyone went through the DS-5535 saga? Been waiting for 1 month now. The consulate said it should take 3-4 weeks but still no word from them and they said that they won’t have updates until it’s approved or denied.
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
I started a mental health inspired streetwear line. It’s called Anxie-tees. Each tee seeks to break the stigmas we have associated with an open discussion about our mental health, but in a fun and snarky way. Each tee benefits Mental Health America. Wear your emotions! Anxie-tees.com
When I started working at 22 I started off with 15% of salary into traditional tax deferred 401k. I’m now 27 with 88k in my tax deferred account, and am thinking about converting it to a Roth account. I don’t know much, but is this advisable? Is it generally the case that is rather pay taxes now if I think I’ll be making more money later in my career, thus I’ll be taxed at a higher rate than compared to today? And when is the best time to convert? Sooner rather than later? When mrkts are frothy?
Phrases and buzzwords banned in 2019, let's hear em. I have but one wish: the death of "ask" as noun.
First resume out of school. Keep it high level? General points to include? Know this is a repeat post but no search function 😑
Received two offers as a Senior Solution Architect. Company A was 180k (my current salary for the last 8 months) and company B offered 210k except they are offering it as contract-to-hire for 3 month term. What to do?
1. Is it true that McKinsey & Company has a 2 year ban? 2. If I am planning to matriculate into an MBA program this fall and got rejected by Mck this spring, does this mean I cannot recruit for their internship? 3. Would changing email address do anything?
What’s the max that someone who is making $2600 a month post tax should spend on rent? Context: sibling is starting out in commission role so this number is the minimum they’d be making, they have emergency fund already, car/insurance paid for by work. They don’t know anyone in the area to live with but studios/1B in decent areas start at $1300
What happens when partners leave the firm (not retire)? Do they have to sell their shares back at book value or how does it work?
Why getting birth control so difficult? Going out of the country and my insurance company can’t fill my prescription early because it’s “too soon”. Every month it is always something different.
