Hello! I'm looking for vendor recommendations for Manager and Leadership Trainings! Anything helps!
I’m from Southern California. Is this what a snow day feels like? But it’s just gonna keep snowing for 1+ months?
I am classified as an agent selling health insurance but there’s a private email I recently gained access to showing the company is using my broker license and I suspected that since I’m the agent of record on a lot of business. They pay for everything including leads but I’m working as an agent in one email whereas there’s another showing I’m using my license as a broker. I get $43,000 salary plus commissions so averaging $80 K a year. Any advice?
Does anyone have favorite examples of company responses on Glassdoor? In addition, are companies responding on Fishbowl and if so, are there any best practices you've found or can share?
Formatting multi-level lists or a brief with numbering in MS word makes me want to throw my computer out the window. Any recs for software to make this easy?
Tips for dealing with an absentee partner? My practice group consists of one fairly well known partner who has spent maybe 30 hours total in the office over the past 3 years. There are no other partners or senior associates in the group to turn to.
The partner is constantly traveling (unclear why) and works exclusively from their phone. The biggest struggle is getting timely responses and any meaningful level of feedback. The lack of guidance is taking a toll. Help!
I am seeking for insight on Union environment. I have an interview Monday for a Construction company that has union employees. How bad is it to deal with a bargaining contract? Is it as bad as I hear? Speak to me Union experience?
I was asked to make a 30 60 90 for a sale. I feel like it's kind of basic and find my 60 and 90 slides are sparse. Anyone able to offer suggestions? Really appreciate it!!
Hi fellow HR folx! I am hoping for shared ideas on a project I am working on. We’re looking to revamp our attendance policy, which needs a more encouraging, positive element. I am curious if my fellow HR folx are willing to share what has worked for them or really what good looks like. Not sure if this is the right bowl to share this post in, but if there is one-I’d like to get to the right direction!
If you could ask for anything at your firm what would you ask for? (Something realistic but a stretch)
Wondering if anyone has suggestions for welcoming a new Director to our company.
My boss suggested bright colored balloons, but I feel like that's too childish. What are some professional, classy ways to say, "welcome to the team, we're glad you're here"?
I'm going with a greeting card signed by HR and his boss.
Any other thoughts?
Good billing realization rate for a first year attorney? I was told to get to 90% but this seems high
Car broke down while I was traveling to an in-person hearing far out of town. Client pays for attorney travel to and from hearings. Is it ethical/fair to bill the client for the time it took triple A to come out and fix it?
Any advice on changing practice areas early in your career? I was barred in November and have focused exclusively in immigration law.

Sooooo I told the partners at my firm I wanted to get some exposure to a different practice area because I’m not loving what I do. Not abandoning my current team at all, but looking to start exploring a different practice area where there’s a need right now. It’s a small firm. “We didn’t hire you for that. We get you want to grow, but this is where you’re staying.” On the one hand, I get it. On the other hand, kind of shitty, right? Or am I wrong here?
I have a team member who has a tendency to miss deadlines, is reluctant to take on tasks which they don't like or refuses to participate in company-wide mandates w/o me & the other team members validating the why's. Prior to joining my team, this behavior was alluded to but never told to me directly. Now I'm seeing it. I've discussed missed deadlines which are acknowledged but w/o permanent resolution. I'm going to give her a verbal warning in the upcoming review. Other suggestions?
Graduated May 2021, been at a top tier firm since then. I was supposed to transition to associate after passing the bar (just took feb). Now I’ve found out I’m being let go, with a 4mo runway. Mainly because of conflict with Senior Associate. Any thoughts on possibility of getting hired at another top tier firm even though my bar results are not in? Partner said I shouldn’t have any trouble landing new job, but I’m technically not a lateral so idk how true that is. Would love some feedback.
Why do people buy Starbucks coffee when your home office has a nice automatic Starbucks coffee machine and all you have to do is place a cup. I swear I'm not cheap but wasting $3 bucks irritates me.
Who worked on the Spotify-Ringer acquisition?
3 year loan officer with 4 prior years of banking experience. About to switch companies for the second time in six months. New offer is a decent bump on commission with a no timeline requirement signing bonus of $10k. I average 1.5-2M monthly closed but gives me the opportunity to bring on a team under me if I so choose, but I still will need to continue producing. Is there any other positions I should look at, I have compliance, processing, and ops experience? I’m beyond done with sales

Ladies, I’m incredibly anxious about potentially being covid positive. Getting a test done tomorrow morning. But I cannot for the life of me get my brain to shut off and sleep. Had a tickle in the throat yesterday, abdominal pain similar to trapped gas, no appetite, and on/off low grade fever. I’ve fully convinced myself I have it. I live alone so I’m really scared of going through this alone. Any tips on how to cope?
