Can a federal/state regulation/legislation legally discriminate against corporations? For example, a shift in policy that ends up affecting one corporation’s business significantly more than other corporations. Or are equal protection rights restricted to natural persons only? I feel like this question was discussed in my Con Law classes, but I just can’t recall the relevant SCOTUS decision.
Is there any resources someone can point me to about the potential legal issues and more information from an HR perspective about contingent employees (temps, contract workers, part-time workers) versus normal FTE’s?
I’m working on a project for an HR class and finding good sources with real evidence about this from SHRM and news publications has been rough. Thanks!

It's like convert this to a pdf for me it's a 200 page graphic heavy doc so takes a few min. Then 9 min later why don't I have it yet. I'm like I just sent it. It takes a few minutes for it to convert.
Pivot ideas for an ID partner (non-equity) who is just over it? I don’t want to be at another firm doing the same thing but just with/for different people. I also feel like it’s too late in my career to start over in a new practice area. And lastly, I can’t take a pay cut. Any good next step you’ve taken/seen someone take out of here?
Got hired by an established local business to be their HR Generalist. They expanded in the last two years and are now hiring HR to have the infrastructure in place to expand again. What advice or resources would you recommend for building an HR department?

Hi, new hr manager here. I have a bit of a situation at work lol an attorney has been making insensitive comments to our support staff, is generally distracting and over sociable and I’ve gotten some neg feedback about him. I spoke with him this morning and this afternoon, he went up to his legal assistant with the Amber Heard filter on Snap, started asking her what was wrong, she didn’t like being filmed, was upsetand ended up working from home the rest of the day. I’m not sure how to move fwd…
When will the older generations realize they’re losing this battle on remote work? People don’t stay 40 years at the same place anymore because it’s “safe”. People will just leave nowadays. And it’s exactly what people are doing. My company can’t hire ANYONE because we don’t offer a hybrid even. On the flip side, we’re losing people in masses at this point and can’t fill any of the roles because the owner (who works remotely) won’t allow it. But “no one wants to work”. Biggest lie of 2022.
Another 9pm night...
Have a 2nd round job interview this Thursday! Wish me luck to get out of here!

Do you take down call notes directly on the draft or in a standalone doc? I prefer the former since it’s way easier for me to refer and amend after, but a senior who subsequently asked for the notes seems annoyed at the format. These notes were intended for my own reference purposes only…

I have been helping him with lesson online resources & creating hyper docs for the lessons. He is struggling with the students not having a lot of supplies at home and how to have them create multiple day art pieces. he teaches at a low income area, how is everyone handling supplies to students?

To the Russian 🐠, Russian culture is filled with an irreplaceable history! From Russia, we got amazing pieces of art, novels, ballet, architecture, music, and even tetris. Russian people have always proven themselves to be a resilient and strong people in the face of difficult situations. Even when their issue was internal. From its people, the world has so much more cultural richness. None of what is happening in Ukraine is your fault. Be proud of your heritage.
Any thoughts to help me (25F) decide between two options?
