The industry offer is awesome. Love the company. Love the role. Con is I would have to live in a city I do not want to live in. This is the best offer I’ve been able to land after months of looking. Do I take it or take a risk and relocate to Dallas (where I want to move) and search for opps there? Have found it difficult to find the right role where I am interested in the work, have an opportunity to grow, and good comp. Nervous I’m saying no to a good thing. Thoughts? I do not want to stay in consulting long term........ and once I make SM I feel like exits will be EVEN harder.

I'd take the role if I were you. TC is fair; and you will do fine with a better WLB and equities. You will be looking for Sr Director or VP exit as a Sr Manager. Could take much longer to find these roles with a focus on networking in the industry.
Are you in strategy now? Curious where Ms at Accenture make so much
FYI - expect a bump at mid year for M, but 215 is with that bump.
What’s vesting period for equity at industry role? Will you be working remote or in office how many days per week currently and how do they see that changing in the near and long term? I would say wait to relocate until you have a job lined up but that’s just me. You could always accept industry job while searching for jobs strictly in Dallas so you don’t have to focus on selling as an SM
Oh damn you’re trying to do the same thing I am lol. I work in Boston but wanna move to TX in the next 5-10 years (I’m only an associate)
Take the new job. You know what you want
Yeah I feel you. I didn’t fully realize it was an HCOL. what city is it?
But yeah I’m so bored of Accenture these days so would take anything else lol

The SM bonus is higher than the M bonus so that adjusts your math slightly

Is it? What, 15%?
Living in a city you don’t want to live in will be challenging, especially as things open up more. I’d look closely at the city because there are potentially a lot of things you’d like, you just haven’t discovered. Similarly there may be stereotypes about it that are swaying your mind.
