A new joiner and have a 401K question. I currently have a traditional 401K with my previous employer and a personal Roth IRA that I backdoor through ira each year. Can I sign up for a Deloitte 401K Roth IRA or am i forced to sign up for the Deloitte traditional 401K?

This is a 2x2. Roth vs Traditional and 401k vs IRA. If Deloitte offers a Roth 401k, use that directly. If not, they would have to allow in service withdrawals for you to move from traditional > Roth IRA. Check out the personal investment chatter bowl.

If they offer an after tax 401k (different than Traditional and not matched), you can probably backdoor that via in service withdrawal.

Sign up for both, unless you don't want employer contributions in traditional.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
