Chief
In seriousness, when my kids were that age they actually said they wanted to grow up to be consultants. They came to “bring your child to work” day and ate snacks and wrote slides and stuff and thought it was awesome.
Wasn’t until they were teens that they entered the “what my dad does is the least cool thing in the world” phase.
P1 to kids during bring your kid to work day” Pls fix”
Not even kidding, a Dad from my kid’s kinder class, at meet the teacher night, asked the teacher, “do you have a sense of the ROI on kids who begin in your class? Like, is there data on the colleges they are accepted into?”
You have a 7 year old son and are an Associate? Chile, I’m more worried about YOU than your boy
Or early. What if op had a baby at 16?
GTFO
😘
I am a firefighter on my projects.
I wanted to be a neurosurgeon and I now work at PwC. Better to have a dream as firefighter and then end up at even KPMG for that matter !
The real game is actually Deloitte > Harvard

Sounds like me as a kid, and now I'm at KPMG. Watch out.
When I was a kid I told my parents I wanted to be a garbage man. They laughed at me.
Well who’s laughing now?
Wow.....🤣🤣🤣🤣
Woof. My recommendation is have another kid and see if that one progresses better...
Did you have your kid at 12?
Rising Star
Op would be around 15 methinks.
I attribute this to bad parenting. You immediately need to create an elaborate slide deck and compare TCs and prestige for all professions, and show where firefighting ranks on a 2x2 matrix. Suggest you skip comparing social impact altogether (you know why), buy your kid a suit and tumi luggage and walk him through the said deck once every week. Have check ins until he changes his ways.
7 or 27 years old? And what's wrong with being a firefighter?
Whoosh
I may have an incredible learning opportunity for him which will provide just the right exposure and get face time with the firm leaders. That should help 😉
Tell him he was on mute and you didn’t hear anything ☺️
Firefighter starting salaries are six figures in sone cities, so he good
Not sure how much OP's firm pays, but hoping they aspire to make a bit more than low six figures in consulting if they make it thier long term career
How dare he
I guess most people here missed the other post.
We are all technically firefighters.. just wearing business clothes

He better start on those SAT practice questions if he wants to get a Jane Street offer by age 12. Otherwise, not too late to call a sunk loss and bet on a new child
When I was 7 I wanted to work the tarmac at o’hare , now I work in tax..
