Hello fishes,
I have a background in finance and 6+ YOE of professional work experience, I had to leave CA in between due to family emergency and started working (although only 1 group of CA final is left, 1 is cleared already), so can anyone provide an insight if being CA qualified is a mandatory requirement in EY and EY GDS in position of Manager in Accounting, auditing,FAAS,AWM teams etc
Would appreciate any insight, as seems HR everywhere just see degree and not the relevant work ex..
How is the company culture like at Gartner?
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

Depends on where you want to go/ where you're from. General rule is that it's easier to move to a larger office from a smaller. They also take your alignment into consideration.
My relocation request was initially denied because my new office wasn't a good location for where I am aligned. I told them that I was going to move whether they let me or not (my fiancé got a new job), like I would quit if they wouldn't let me move offices basically, and my TFS did some special request and they let me switch offices
List an address in NY as your permanent (friend or family's would be fine) and you won't show on HR's bad list. Then you can list your new address for mailing and get anything to you. Just update your W4 to new state and you should be able to get by. Drawback would be if NY tried to staff you locally, but that would really depend on your practice and demand in that local market. Just make sure you staff yourself in a travel gig and you should be okay. I mean the other risk is they could change their screening and HR start hassling you... But I don't worry about that too much. I've been doing this for a few years now and survived. I also know several other people who have too.
Ny to Florida. Also why does it matter since we flight out to projects regardless of location? 🤔
You'll likely have a hard time transferring to a FL office. Your best bet would be to find friends in the desired office and try to network with local MDs and/or get your project leadership to help if it's a long term gig. HR is typically worthless, so I'd go to them as last resort. You could also just keep your office in NY with a permanent address there and "fly under the radar" living in FL.
My salary didn't change but the 2 cities are the same cost of living. I heard of someone who moved from NYC to Charlotte and her salary didn't change
OP: A few issues to consider. a) It's technically illegal (from a tax perspective) to claim a home/office address in a location but live somewhere else. b) If you have a 'local' meeting or project, you will have no reimbursements for travel, lodging, food, etc. and c) FL has no state tax so you'll be paying taxes in a state you don't live.
As long as your W4 is updated, it'd be fine with the IRS. People live in one state and work in another all the time (e.g. live in Jersey, but work in NY). It should only be "illegal" to Accenture policy.
It's fairly simple. takes more than two weeks though unless you're special
It's not hard to change offices. Just make sure that you have support from your project.
Mine took 2-3 months with the extra request my TFS had to put in. I moved before it was approved
I am very positive compensation effects ....as your current location is compensated amongst other things as the COL . It changes ( but don't expect a hike )
The company is trying hard to staff more 'locally'. My request was denied because the office I wanted to transfer to, although closer to my client's location, was "not a key location for resources".
A3 salary change ?
A4 so Living in one state and office on the books in another is an option? Any drawbacks to this option ?
From what I've heard, salaries don't change but your promotion increases decrease if you move to a cheaper city
And in case of an audit, I think you'd technically be liable for the taxes for each "flex trip" from client to FL. As a previous poster said, say it's for family and give no option. I recently moved, said it was family, and had no choice to move and hopefully we can make it work at Accenture. I'm CDO tho, and have heard it's far easier for CDO.
Last time I checked, there were no green (open) offices in Florida. As part of joining, I was required to transfer out of the Tampa Bay office. I know someone else that had to do the same.
Good luck getting into Florida. Let me know if/how you manage it.
Salary doesn't change and it's super easy. Simple HR request in people mobility. Whole process took me 2 weeks
I was given green light to change to the Tampa office
