Hello ZSers,
I have been shortlisted for AC role and my HR discussion is scheduled next week.
1. Need some insights on the maximum and minimum ctc (fixed and variable) that can be offered for 3 yoe (all relevant) . My current ctc is 7.2 (6.5 fixed) . Tech stack - Big data and AWS developer.
2. Is there any joining bonus. If yes , what should be the ask.
Any inputs will be very helpful for me to go with my expectations to the HR. Thanks!

Yeah not a partner. But why would you dare share !? Keep your mouth shut and get the opportunities that will get you want you want.
See the forest for the trees, friend.
The best advice I’ve ever received was to keep my cards close to my chest. If you can build a relationship with your superiors then you’ll land the right projects. There will be people who will use information like this to keep you down/get rid of you. Over time you will gain the right experience, better to get there through a harder route than to potentially set yourself up for sabotage
Your free to do what you feel is best for you OP. I just found (in my personal and professional life) that you never know anyone’s true intentions. Everybody has an agenda no matter how innocent it may seem. Trust your gut instinct. There have been times where I revealed info to someone I thought was looking out for me only to have them turn around and use that info to their own advantage. I’m rooting for you OP, you’ll make it !!!
I’ll bite. I don’t think I’d take it very serious as it’s 3 years away. I’d probably tell you I had the same plan, yet here I am. I’d prefer we talk about your career goals and how I can help you be successful as opposed to strategize how you can get a job at a company we don’t do work at after you get a promotion you don’t yet have.
I appreciate your response. I said 3 years because I assumed I couldn’t land a director role until then. But funny enough a recruiter just reached out for the director role I was just referring to. I’ve made it through the first 2 rounds so far.
Sometimes it’s not about career goals, I know my goals and I’m having great success so far. It’s about being present for 2 young kids and my working spouse. Also realizing if I leave consulting I’d likely want to come back so keeping strong connections would be important to me.
Not only should you inform them, you should also invite them to interview alongside you
No need to elaborate. Just a snarky comment from an analyst probably.
Are you good at what you do? Are you performing at the L6 level? That's what matters. The promo is a lagging indicator of performance not leading ;)
I'd try and convince you to stay if you shared that detail but you gotta do you and if you did go I'd hope we had a great relationship so you got us in
Well Godspeed friend! Make sure you get us some work while you're there :)
I’ve heard MBB offers exit support as a strategic partnership. Mutually beneficial, you help me get the right experience to land the role I want and I hold the door open, so to speak. Or should I keep it quiet and just give my 2 weeks when I’m ready?
Agree to keep it to yourself, without knowing the details of your relationship with the MDs. And BCGs exit support doesn’t truly work in the way you describe. If you get fired, you get some number of months paid to search for a job, with some limited career support. The quality of the support can vary by region but it’s often not very useful
