What I know is if i can be a manager at a regular office and yet have my own start up venture(s) on various other skills, it shouldn't ideally conflict but some HR do poke in between

Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? If you can get in the national tax group, big 4. Better wlb, still sufficiently diverse and complex work if that matters to you, and decent pay.
I can’t speak for every big 4 and don’t know where you are and how they’d value your experience. But you can come in over 225 likely everywhere.
I would think in-house, but those jobs don't come up very often.
Can I ask why you’d go from biglaw to big4? I’m currently pursuing an LLM in tax and want to go into exec comp/EB, but I’d like to go to biglaw rather than big4 (although I thought it was easier to get to big4 first).
WLB
Big 4 could give you exposure to a wide variety of clients so that when you have a few more years’ experience, you have better insight into where you want to go in-house at and a leg up at actually getting a job there.
This makes sense and is very helpful. I’m at a midsize firm and am getting an LLM in hopes that I can retool from lit. My firm doesn’t have a super strong tax group, so I’m on the fence on whether I look for other firms, try to go big4, or roll the dice learning tax at my firm (assuming they actually let me change)
What do you want to do? I'd rather be in house than at big 4 but depends on your goals. Also, harder to land in house with 4 years of experience,I think, but if you find something you probably want to grab it.
