After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?

Wells Fargo should be looking to hire with all the advisors that are about to leave.

2 weeks is nothing to be concerned about. Your search will probably take at least 6-8 months to secure a job. Use LinkedIn to gather as much intelligence as possible: target companies, contacts, common connections, jobs. Don’t forget about LI jobs portal. I always set my privacy settings to view people’s profiles anonymously. You want to be stealthy and not let everyone know you’re looking at their profile. Until you want to strategically let someone know you’re peeping them, then allow in preferences. You need paid/premium accounts with LI, Glassdoor, Indeed. Get out to networking events and fundraisers

Print your resume on really nice high quality paper along with a cover letter on your own personalized letterhead. Track down people you want to work for and send them a certified UPS envelope with your stuff. It will break through all the online bullshit clutter and at least show you know how to get stuff done. It worked for me.

Reach out on linked. Try alumni, ask for career advice. Offer to buy lunch/coffee. Do not ask for a job, but advice on what they would do

Job seekers should order personal “networking” business cards to hand out at events. Name, phone, email, LinkedIn personal web url, professional title

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?

I applied for a job at a well-known healthcare company a couple of months ago. I had a number of remote interviews and then they asked me to fly out for a final round of in-person interviews. Later that week they told me that they were going to be making an offer. Another week has gone by and still no offer. They said they are still working on it. Is this the new norm for recruiting? I have other offers and can't keep waiting for these foot draggers.

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?
