Crossroads Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. I have been with the organization almost 6 years and have accomplished achievement of my MSL (Masters Strategic Leadership) and LOVE the organization…BUT…I am not having any success in moving into a new position…my interviews are great experiences but it seems to be a pattern of not being selected yet encouraged to continue applying…received information from a mentor/manager to ask for candid feedback…when is enough…ENOUGH??

Budgets fall away. Accounts are lost. Management restructures. Accept it at face value if you really want to work there.
JFC, OP- is this your first job interview at another agency? This is how things go. You get a great gig and a promotion. Shut up and be grateful for what’s being offered.
Welcome to 2017.
Anyone that would share that information (and mean it how you are inferring), is not a company I would have great confidence in.
> ...look at more diverse candidates. For the record, I’m a woman. So uh... even tho it’s potentially a great job and is a promotion... is this weird or worth going for?
@ creative director — this diversity thing at face value seems like a weird excuse to openly tell a candidate
Could be because their top choice fell through
Yeah really wondering where. Been talking to/turned down a few places. If the agency isn’t listed in the bowl then maybe tell us?
@leo def not, but the diversity excuse is a first.
Happened to me at one of the big places about 5 years ago...had a great interview, didn't hear a peep for about 6-7 weeks...at which time they made me an offer. Go for it if it's somewhere you think you want to be.
@OP yeah I wrote that before you posted your extension. I take back my comment. It’s possible they had to check a box to satisfy a rule saying they considered diverse candidates. Who knows
It's irrelevant what happened, now they do want you so consider it a win and take it if you like the people and company, etc. Weirder things have happened to me and it took even longer.
They may have had to take a diversity candidate and then after a few months that didn't work out, so now they're hiring you.
Me too sr cw1
If it were a big agency, I’d be more comfortable saying where. But it’s pretty small. And not in a big market. I can say that.
That is insane. Diversity is an important consideration in a number of criteria used to make a decision...whoever told you this is mostly likely incorrect and not a shot caller. Blaming diversity for their flip flopping is morally wrong too, and could get them in trouble.
Sounds like you have a grade A dumbass on the hook. Ask for 250 and a sports car.
Where?
Sounds like a bs excuse for what SC1 said, but if you want the job take it. Maybe get a few extra pto days while you work towards getting it.
Us? East/west coast?
