I could be a homer, but the firm has a lot of momentum right now and is very busy. This is the 3rd consulting firm I’ve worked at including a Big 4 and a respected tier-2 shop and I’m happier and better compensated here. The type of work we are in, we compete against MBB, ATK and other similar firms.

I've seen base pay from 150-220k. We don't really do ranges - you're comp'ed on your experience.

What about VP with 3 years of experience ?

Agree with AP1. The firm is growing. Good time to consider.

I’m new to the firm but from what I’ve seen VP level starting can range from like 120-175k. It depends what your three years of experience included.

Thanks guys. Helpful. How’s the firm performance now? Typically what does the bonus pool look like?

I think standard bonus is 20%+. I did well last year and got 50%

AP1- what’s the standard raise % like?

Don't know. Last year was my first full year and I was promoted, so I don't have a good basis of comparison. The year before my raise was 0% and my bonus was 23% and I had been with the firm for 5 months. 2 months if you count from from when I started to the end of the performance year in October.

Actually. I know that your year end performance and bonus is partly calculated on your work in the year but mostly based on what they consider to be your potential. That's what they told us in EI at the beginning of the year.

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
Is this normal with EY recruitment
