I got a call from DXC for senior Java developer position in Bucharest (Romania). They have mentioned a pay scale of 17k to 18k RON per month after tax cutting
If i got selected I am planning to move with my family.
Will there be any savings and what would be cost of living for a 3 member family there.

You are 31? Yup your life is over.
Let me tell you what you don't want to hear.
Stop winning like a 13 year old. Get hold of your self and move on. The attitude you are showing will do nothing but keep you down.
Wow here's the reason why people find consulting toxic
I can guarantee that approximately 0.0% of the population views a MBB job as success in life.
But 100% of MBA grads know what MBB is and there is shame amongst them, honestly MBAs are the worst about titles.
I'm seriously trying to figure out if this is a joke. You're getting paid more than 99.99% of people on Earth right now. You have a valuable graduate degree and essentially unlimited opportunity in the grand scheme of things. Get some perspective, man.
Being an employee is not an equivalent of success. Every consultant lies to themselves their lifestyle compensation etc supersedes the horrible work life balance, doing something you hate and lack of building something on their own. Forget MBB, Big 4, etc. just another fish in the sea. Look inside and see what you’re passionate about and take a risk on that instead of making life / age milestones based on others who will have to work to 67 to enjoy freedom.
When you don’t have internal self worth there is a constant drive for external validation.
This sense of confusion will continue regardless of your circumstances, please consider getting therapy and making connections outside of the consulting bubble.
Your mental health is worth it.
Stop thinking. Just work and be at peace with yourself. MBB or not Life has way much more to it than the scale you are using to measure it with.
You’re not too old. Issue isn’t your career track. The issue is your own thinking about yourself. Consider reaching out to a career counselor or a licensed mental health therapist to help you sort out how to build your confidence and find the right job.
You need to listen to David Goggins and stop being a bitch. Run 10 miles tonight, go to Jiu-Jitsu class tomorrow, pick up a girl at the bar. Head up, always forward.
Not getting into MBB has nothing to do with being a failure (I am MBB PL)
I did tire 2 then MBB I am here
Take it as a tough love approach, but this is basically a former valedictorian’s view of life. Above messages are right. 0.01% cares about those goals, and you’d end up peaking at some point there anyway. Even former of mckinsey ended up doing insider trading time because he thought he wasn’t rich enough.
Try to move past this linear view of things. Keep the chip on your shoulder only if it helps you do something beyond what even you expected.
Used to be Big 4 pre MBA and now at a boutique strategy shop. Honestly I had built up strategy consulting as this elite thing but the differences are not as stark as one would expect from the outside looking in (although Big 4 does have a lot of practices that are basically staff augmentation and you don’t want want to be stuck in them).
At the end of the day, the toolkit you’re using is the same and the skills you’ll build up will be very similar. One can argue that you can learn more at a Big 4 because the projects tend to be longer and you’re likelier to end up working very closely with clients on implementing stuff, which can build deeper expertise in things like data analytics.
I know how toxic the MBA hardos can be but don’t let all the flexing and talk about prestige get to your head. I felt similarly when I struck out with MBB but ultimately, very few people in the real world care. Your MBA from a top school probably has wider appeal in terms of prestige in the real world.
Touch grass
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Take a break and re evaluate. If you still want mbb, then go for it
Life is short. You do still have 20,30 years of career ahead of you. The worst thing you can do is to give up.
At least you got an MBA from a top school, my MBA is not from a top school so it’s basically useless
My dude needs a Gary V x Tony Robbins Eiffel Tower of motivation stat

Therapy could help with your insecurities, it’s just a paycheck. None of us are making an impact or saving lives. Plus no one says “when I grow up, I wanna be a consultant” - pretty sure we all had bigger dreams as kids.
Yes you are a failure. Big time.
Maybe business/consulting is just not something you’re passionate about.
Stop comparing yourself to others…each person has his own destiny and you need to accept that be grateful wherever you are but keep pushing forward
It depends — what success is for you. If you believe you’d like to work for MBB, you definitely should try again, and I’m sure with the right preparations you’d make it there (you already have network). But definitely, working at MBB is not the only sign that you’re successful. Your success depends on what you expected to achieve in life with that degree. Work toward it. One of the lessons I learned at the business school was to question your own biases and assumptions, seek out relevant information, and take the time to reflect to find the right course of action. The latter part is what you might want to focus on.
