Wow here's the reason why people find consulting toxic
I can guarantee that approximately 0.0% of the population views a MBB job as success in life.
But 100% of MBA grads know what MBB is and there is shame amongst them, honestly MBAs are the worst about titles.
Depends on how you define success, are you able to sustain the quality of life that you are used to ? And What are your goals and do you think you are working hard towards getting there ? Losers are the ones who care about the opinions of random people on fish bowl bother them.
So the only loser move you’ve made is to seek approval from random strangers 🙂

If it makes you feel any better - These aren’t real problems - what you needs is to speak to someone about your career and life. Measure your life by your goals and not others success. Trust me

Don't think in terms of what you SHOULD have done, or where you should be. Keep the mindset of "what CAN I do today?", don't criticize what you should have been, you are only responsible for what you can do today.

Kind of similar history to you, except I got cut at the beginning of COVID. I got to my final round with McKinsey for a third time (once per year in B-school) and still got a rejection. That's when I realized I didn't want to keep pursuing MBB because my end goal isn't to stay in consulting anyway, and I don't want to join freshly graduated MBAs after having 2-3 or more years of post-MBA experience. The question for you is: what do you want to be doing in 10 years and how would you like to look back on the decade that's past in terms of your career (and life)?
Comparison is the death of joy. Live your life. Find what works for you. You’re never too old to start living the life you’re meant to live.
Asking untold numbers of strangers (who can reply anonymously) your first question is begging for abuse. I suggest you be more careful.

I'd start by asking why you're focused on MBB. I mean, we all have our faults, but McKinsey is basically an organized crime syndicate. Do you really want to party downwind of Uighur concentration camps after having hooked half of America on opioids?
