Hello fishes,
So what is your experience in increasing ECTC while getting subsequent job offers? How much increase shall we ask on top of previous offer? E.g. Current max I have is 25lpa, how much can I ask HR from next company? Infosys Accenture Deloitte KPMG Hashedin by deloitte Nagarro Tata Consultancy HCL Technologies Wipro
What will be the in-hand for this offer?

As a partner, easily.

About 5M people in the US make over $300k per year. That includes doctors, lawyers, entertainers, etc. Can a CPA make over $300k, yes. Is it likely, no. However being a CPA provides a very good life and if your SO works combined you can make over $300k HHI pretty easily.
15years into the field, sr manager I know makes 150k. Head of the department cleared 200k And probably 20 years under the belt. 300k is doable only if you are sr director And above at a public company or if you make partner in PA
I don’t know

If you make partner somewhere
EY has about 4,000 US Partners and the majority of them make $700k+. Yes newer Partners are lower but it escalates very quickly. It doesn’t take long to fund a Keogh plan fully, buy rental properties, second homes, fully funded college education via big 529 contributions, etc.
I’ve never knocked partners for it and in fact stand up for them when bashed on here because I know they are the top 3% of the whole firm, always top performers for many many years on their way up, so I’m not a partner-bashing employee. I get it.
My complaint in this thread was the claim it was a “sacrifice” to sell the Porsche and stop renovations on the house. I’m all for supporting partners and the firm but don’t pretend that $1MM per year is not a big deal, it’s not chump change to regular people like us.
I don't know about you, but I will.

Why do you need that much money?
It is still more than 95% will ever get. Saying it is not that much is ridiculous.
idk my dad was CPA for like 30 years and his top was 250

In industry you could, but you would need to be senior management of the accounting/finance divisions
Controller at my client makes right at 300, CAO makes like 450
Make Partner. Depending on the accounting firm you might make that at the level just below partner (source: my dad was a partner in an accounting firm)
Go to industry - lots of roles where you can make that kind of money or more. At my (small/medium sized) client $300k+ is typical for the CFOs direct reports and for business unit finance leadership. My friend is a controller at a non profit and makes in that range as well. Another friend is a Director of FP&A at a F500 and also makes that kind of money
One of my clients ($40m revenue) CFO makes $350k

If you want to, and you’re good at it, sure. Lots of opportunities in public or in industry. I’m just below that after 4 years as a Managing Director, and should be above that after my next raise. But needless to say not every CPA wants to (or can be) a partner or a CFO, so depends on your goals.
Yes possible. Controller at a public company or cfo of private company or partner in public accounting

If youre a CFO...
Not really. Director amd above have a chance at 300k. CFO at a public company should be 500k+ for base and millions in equity
What if you are in a los like Forensics or risk advisory? Is your only option to become partner.
CPA, we'll ACA internal audit in a Big Bank. The Audit Directors make that and there are many of them.
Yes
All things are possible though the power of Jpow's printers solving the budget deficit and national debt repayment problem.
100k to my grandparents when they were young is the same as a million dollars today. And so 100k today will be a million when your are in retirement. But a million when you retire will only have the purchasing power of 10k back when my grandparents were young. All this is accelerated with the money printers going brrrr
