Interviewing for a commercial role at Accenture, working in federal spaces right now and I cannot deal with anymore Big4 fed work. Any insights on Accenture? Do managers have revenue/sales targets? Do you have to have 10 different "firm initiatives" or other non-chargeable work to look good for promotion?
Found this discussion going on on Linkedin about the role of #Account #Management /#Client Service. Thought this was a good forum for it. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/vivek-kuchibhotla-1939973_marketers-agency-account-activity-6572520726765547520-pPBt
Good news for everyone no matter where you are politically: New research indicates COVID immunity could last more than a year, especially after vaccination.
Obvious exit opps look lame, having a hard time knowing where to look. I need a change but…?
Product Management - I am somewhat interested in trying to move into product management. I have led internal analytics product development at a prior firm, and have led clients through developing/improving “products” for their teams to use however I have not led “consumer facing” products and my experiences have not been as “formal” as many PM roles ask for. I work in healthcare and would want to stay there. I’m wondering if others have any thoughts on these transitions.
So how do you feel the consulting life is impacting your wellness as you hop over the age of 40, I’m finding under Covid I’m much more healthy/lost weight etc.
Thoughts on privia health currently have an offer but uncertain if I should leave my health system job. Thank you.
I am looking forward for a referral for an opening in Gap Inc 11+ years experience for scrum master. Please help for any contacts, thanks!
A junior requested to be reassigned from my project because I let them know they were under performing and delayed a project deadline due to inaction. They've let me know that I've made them feel pretty bad and does not think I'm a good manager. However it has been a consistent issue with this individual (lack of initiative, motivation, sloppy deliverables, and does not ask questions when they are unclear on an ask). I have tried to make space for them to ask questions and take initiative (cont)
hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. I’ve decided I don’t want to settle any longer, and I’m ready to make the jump to the elite. so people that have made it to their dream agencies: when did it happen for you, what made it happen, and was it everything you hoped for?
So, COVID is running wild, pay decreases are in full effect and you just found out one of the worst creatives in the building just got promoted! How do you react?
Anyone here join Orange Theory as a beginner? Pre-pandemic I was an avid gym goer but only really did cardio & weight machines. I’ve been doing at home workouts but I’m losing interest. I’m not super strong or fit and definitely can’t run fast or long as I once did. Im a little nervous going to a group exercise glass being new. Would love to hear people’s thoughts. Im trying to lose covid weight. Are there other fitness studios you enjoy more/made a difference? Thank you!
Applying for a couple of things and randomly decided to google myself to see what recruiters might see. Had helped a friend out way way back with a school project and came across her blog post about it on her personal website in which she says the reason she asked me to help is because she trusted my opinion since I am a “harsh critic.” I think she meant keen critic or that this was supposed to be a positive but to me, this reads as an insult (continued in comments)
$20k in credit card debt due to emergency medical bills this year. I work for a mid-sized firm, and our insurance refused to cover some testing that the doctors said was vital. I’ve appealed twice.
Simone Biles showed the world that there’s no such thing as the wrong time to prioritize your health and safety. It might be inconvenient and costly, but it is never wrong.
Remember when Fauci said we didn't need masks then said we did but only N95 masks, but then said any face covering will work. Then said if you're vaccinated you need to double mask. Then said you can single mask. Then said no masks if you're vaccinated. Now the CDC says you need a 3rd vaccine shot to "greatly" prevent delta variant. But no, EVEN if you're vaccinated you can get Covid. Like f off. This is not exact science clearly. I have taken 2 shots but now I refuse to listen to this BS.
Did anyone exit from consulting to sales positions at Google or Microsoft? I am looking to pivot into sales and having a bit of a hard time getting interviews. Any tips or if anyone is willing to private message it would be appreciated. I have 3 YOE and 2 are in consulting if that’s helpful. Thanks!
A Deloitte AM&C (Advertising, Marketing & Commerce) recruiter reached out to me today to schedule an interview. Can someone provide some insight to the Team and Deloitte’s culture?
Has anyone here seen a functional medicine doctor for hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes or early hashimotos? How much has it helped you? Insurance doesn’t pay for it so considering the cost, I want to make sure I am taking the right step and knowing it has helped some people. Thank you!
Significant other is active duty marine corps and while I have 10 years of experience, having a tough time “making the right moves” to climb the ranks in consulting due to needing to (or at least needing to be available to) relocate every few years. Anyone willing to chat? Looking to get into MBB if possible. Prior big 4 exp and worked across human capital, tech, and some S&O. Super hard working and quick learner. McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
Currently an A3 in audit. My team communicated to me that they’re pushing for me to get mid-year promo (Jan 2022) but I’m also interested in leaving to another Big 4 for AAS as an S1. Current salary is $73.6k and am unsure of how much I should be going for to make the jump worth it. I know EY FAAS offered a friend $85k in my market but assuming I get mid year promo I’m not so sure the salary bump would be significant enough. How much room for negotiation is there with Big 4 experienced hires?
I am a substitute that a lot of the teachers like because I do the job well and follow their lesson plans. Do you think it is a better idea to stay a sub or move on in hope of my own class?
I was contacted by a Facebook recruiter for a Data Scientist interview, but I'm not ready to take a new job right now. Should I take the interview for the practice or would that look bad if I want to seriously apply next year?
Currently work at AWS in Business Intelligence and am looking to transfer into Product Management. Looking at MBB eventually. In my experience, most people from MBB have FAANG as their exit op. Why?
How much time it takes for Walmart US recruiter to revert with the final decision, once the interviews are over for tech position?
Does anyone else not feel professionally satisfied? I’ve accomplished everything I really wanted. Got into dream schools, the firm I wanted, client groups, transfers, etc. Every promotion has come and ratings are great. I should be comfortable and satisfied, but then I feel like I can always professionally accomplish more? Yet I look around I don’t see many “better” options and / or alternative paths.
Someone last week asked about the authenticity of Diversity initiatives at work. Interesting piece from NY Times http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/12/17/public-editor/new-york-times-diversity-liz-spayd-public-editor.html?referer=https://t.co/7Xo5N2j97t
Oliver Wyman how is the MBA sponsorship process like? Any advice? I’ll be coming in as a senior consultant within CCG! TYIA!
What’s a typical salary % increase for a general strategy consultant at B4 exiting to industry? Would be a startup or large food company.
Finally got an offer to leave my current agency, where the bar is extremely low and the stress is extremely high. Worst case scenario to be in if you care about good work, be careful when being seduced by some small *boutique* agencies. Lesson learned!
Any tips for working w/ your father in this biz? 😬 see the huge opportunity to step into something that’s already built vs struggling in your first few years but I do worry about the father-son side
Looking for recommendations for solo trips where I could “work from home” and enjoy exploring after hours. I live in Colorado currently. Anyone doing this and may have recommendations? Thinking of flying to San Diego first.
Anyone have insight into culture at Guggenheim partners? Specifically on the total return bond team?
I’m in consulting because in my undergrad business school culture it was either finance (non corporate) or consulting. Industry was seen as failure. I never gave it second thought. Anyone else?
Hi EY and Fishes everywhere! I might be getting an offer to join tax as an S1 (or exp. assoc), probably not being able to start until mid August based off how the process has been. However, I currently work at a mid size firm and we’re already getting into busy season. How would it look if I asked EY to postpone my start date till after 10/15 and say that I’m not ready to be thrown into a Big 4 busy season and that I don’t want to leave my current firm out to dry. Thank you all so much! @EY
At what age did your parents retire / do you want them to retire? My mom already retired at 62 but my dad is still working at 66 and I don't feel good about it.
