AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?

I have been in the US from Canada on contract for the past 6 months. My fiancé and I were supposed to get married and move here permanently in the fall. Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? That folks with moral objections would file a lawsuit like this, and then get it up to The Church for review, and then overturn Lawrence v Texas. This is just happening a lot faster than I thought.

I know I will get hated by saying this. Do you think gay pride events are portraying a bad image about our community to public?
