Thoughts on… project management and technology? Yes. Required as an essential component of implementing technology.
Easy to get a job probably depends on location, I don’t know enough on the job outlook for it but there is definitely a need. I’ve been working as a part of the client side of a web application development team and I sorely wish we had more bandwidth to manage the project. The consulting group we work with is taking forever and a lot of the reason it’s slow is because of poor project management on their side and ours. A major challenge is bridging the language between developers and users / clinicians.
If you’re a director of pharmacy you’re underselling yourself. You have a tremendous amount of project management experience.
What kind of technology have you implemented at your work? Doesn’t even have to be new technology, it can just be optimization and maintenance of the pharmacy side of the emr. Dose range checking optimization. Medication use system optimization or process development.
In the end project management is oversimplified to documentation, communication, follow-up, and accountability.
I'm studying as well but looking to transition more into a sales or account management role at a health-tech company.
Oh my, I am planning to go for Coursera project management certificate too. I'm hoping it's a good decision.
You'll probably need more than a few classes on Coursera. I'd look into certification programs, as that would provide much more in-depth education and give you a better chance of getting your foot in the door.
Yes! I figure this is a good intro.
Next I wanna get by scrum certification
